There are studies after studies about how what we feel comes from where our thoughts were or are. These thoughts and emotions determine our behaviour.
We have a choice, we get to choose which thoughts we hold onto, which thoughts get more mind space than others, the choice is ours. Even when we are tired, miserable or unmotivated to check our thoughts and we let them rattle around in our mind and drive us to behaviours we see and do not want, we are making a choice.
Let us choose to be mindful about what we are thinking, let us choose to "Demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and take captive every though to make it obedient to Christ." 2 Corinthians 10:5
The challenge here is to know what it is God wants us to be hearing in order to know it's an arguments, a lie when it comes. May we find ourselves in His Word, in prayer and fellowship so that we can build ourselves up in Him.
